Common probiotic may shield cancer patients from debilitating treatment side effect
NCT ID NCT06508034
Summary
This study is testing whether a widely available probiotic supplement can prevent a serious and painful side effect of cancer immunotherapy. It involves 12 adults with solid tumors who are receiving immunotherapy, which can cause severe colon inflammation and diarrhea in nearly half of patients. Researchers want to see if taking the probiotic daily for 12 weeks reduces the chances of developing this complication.
