First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking an over-the-counter probiotic (VSL#3) can prevent colitis (colon inflammation and diarrhea) in cancer patients receiving immunotherapy. About 12 adults with solid tumors who are starting or have just started immunotherapy will take the probiotic daily. The goal is to see if this simple addition can reduce the risk of a common and unpleasant side effect.
