NCT ID NCT04014660

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether a daily mix of two friendly bacteria (Lactobacillus paracasei and Lactobacillus plantarum) could stop or slow autoimmune diseases like celiac disease, type 1 diabetes, and thyroid problems in children. The 202 participants were kids who already had early signs of autoimmunity in their blood. Researchers wanted to see if these probiotics could calm the immune system and protect the gut.
