First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether tiny plastic particles (microplastics) we are exposed to daily might contribute to weight gain and inflammation. Researchers gave 96 overweight adults either a probiotic supplement or a placebo to see if the probiotic could reduce the harmful effects of microplastics.
