NCT ID NCT07530081
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether taking a daily probiotic supplement can reduce menstrual pain and premenstrual symptoms in women. 150 women with moderate-to-severe period pain will take either a high or low dose of probiotics or a placebo for four menstrual cycles. Researchers will track changes in pain, mood, and sleep quality using standard questionnaires.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a natural, side-effect-free option for managing period pain and premenstrual symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no phase designation. Probiotics may not outperform placebo, and results may not apply to everyone.
