Gut health hope: probiotics tested for teen pain relief
NCT ID NCT05141890
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking a probiotic supplement for 8 weeks could lower inflammation and ease pain in teenagers (ages 13-17) who have chronic pain and a body mass index at or above the 85th percentile. Researchers measured changes in a blood marker for inflammation and asked participants about their worst pain levels. The goal was to see if a simple, over-the-counter supplement could offer relief.
