Summary
This study tested whether a probiotic called Lactobacillus johnsonii N6.2 is safe and affects the immune system in 30 children and teens with type 1 diabetes. The goal was to see if the probiotic could help preserve the body's ability to produce insulin by improving gut health. Participants took the probiotic for 24 weeks and were monitored for side effects and changes in blood and stool samples.
