First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a daily mix of a probiotic (Bifidobacterium longum W11) and a prebiotic (Colopectin) can help children aged 2 to 6 with functional constipation stop taking macrogol laxatives without symptoms returning. One hundred children will receive either the supplement or a placebo for 4 weeks, then be followed for another 4 weeks. The main goal is to see if constipation persists after stopping laxatives.
