Summary

This study tested whether taking a specific probiotic supplement (Lactobacillus reuteri) could help reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression in adults who report moderate to high stress. 150 participants aged 18-45 were randomly assigned to take either the probiotic or a placebo pill daily. Researchers measured changes in stress and mood during the study and for one month after stopping the supplement.
