Gut check: can a probiotic ease chronic constipation?
NCT ID NCT06730594
Summary
This study tested whether a specific probiotic capsule could help adults with chronic functional constipation. About 168 participants took either the probiotic or a placebo (a dummy pill) for 8 weeks, with follow-up for 12 weeks. Researchers measured changes in bowel movement frequency, stool consistency, constipation symptoms, and quality of life to see if the probiotic provided relief.
