New study looks at blood flow after heart artery balloon treatment
NCT ID NCT05716997
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study observed 43 patients with stable coronary artery disease who had balloon angioplasty to open blocked heart arteries. Researchers measured blood flow after the procedure to see how it related to X-ray images of the arteries. They also compared two types of balloons (scoring vs. regular) to see if one led to better blood flow. The study did not test a new treatment, but aimed to gather information for future care.
