New trial aims to protect memory and hearing in brain tumor patients
NCT ID NCT06831461
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study compares two types of radiation therapy—proton beam and standard X-ray (photon)—for adults with brain tumors that have a good outlook. The goal is to see if proton therapy, which targets the tumor more precisely, helps patients live longer without serious side effects like memory loss, hearing problems, or hormone issues. About 156 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and followed for five years.
