Could a plasma gel heal diabetic foot ulcers faster?
NCT ID NCT06952998
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from a patient's own blood, called Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF), can heal foot ulcers better than standard care. It includes 38 diabetic adults with poor leg blood flow. The treatment is applied topically during regular wound care visits for up to six months.

Active substance
Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new treatment option to help heal hard-to-treat foot ulcers in diabetic patients with poor blood flow.
What could go wrong
This is a small early-phase trial with only 38 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment may not speed up healing or could cause side effects like infection.
