New hip stem under study for patients needing revision surgery
NCT ID NCT06626490
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 120 people who need hip revision surgery (replacing a previous hip implant) to see how well the Prevision hip stem works. The stem comes in different versions, and surgeons choose the best one for each patient. The main goal is to measure how well patients can function after surgery using a standard questionnaire.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Prevision hip stem (a modular or monobloc hip implant used in revision surgery)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could confirm that the Prevision hip stem is a safe and effective option for people needing hip revision surgery.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be less definitive. It is also relatively small (120 participants) and may not apply to all patients.
