Heart ablation before trouble starts: new trial for High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT06543173

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a preventive heart procedure (ablation) can reduce dangerous heart rhythms in people with heart failure who are getting an implantable defibrillator (ICD). About 62 high-risk participants will be randomly assigned to receive ablation within three months of ICD placement or to continue standard medical care. The goal is to see if early ablation lowers the number of life-threatening rhythm events and reduces hospital visits.
