First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether a silicone ring (pessary) placed in the vagina or natural progesterone hormone works better to prevent early delivery in pregnant women whose cervix is 25 mm or shorter. The trial included 203 women with a single baby between 20 and 24 weeks of pregnancy. The main goal was to see which treatment reduced births before 34 weeks.
