Wake-Up call: can reversing sedation stop Post-Surgery confusion?

NCT ID NCT07277881

Summary

This study tests whether giving a drug called flumazenil to reverse sedation after hip replacement surgery can help prevent confusion and thinking problems that sometimes occur after surgery. Researchers will compare flumazenil to a placebo in 150 patients to see if it improves cognitive test scores and reduces delirium in the first two days after surgery. The goal is to find a simple way to help patients recover their normal thinking faster after their operation.
