First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a phone-based counseling program, delivered by trained non-professionals, can prevent depression in low-income older adults who have recently had a stroke. Researchers will enroll 350 people who have mild depression symptoms or none at all. The goal is to see if this approach can stop full-blown depression from developing.
