Summary

This study tests whether using a special vacuum device inside the body right after colorectal cancer surgery can prevent leaks where the intestine is reconnected. About 110 adults having surgery for colorectal cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either the vacuum therapy or standard care. The main goal is to see if the vacuum reduces the number of leaks within 30 days after surgery.
