Hospital walking program aims to stop older patients from losing their independence

NCT ID NCT04479943

Summary

This study tested a hospital program called MOVIN, designed to help older patients walk more during their stay. The goal was to prevent loss of mobility—a common problem that can lead to nursing home placement—and reduce hospital readmissions. Researchers enrolled about 765 older patients and nurses to see if changing hospital routines could improve patient independence after going home.
