Home sensors aim to keep cancer patients out of the hospital
NCT ID NCT02253238
Summary
This study is testing whether using simple devices at home to check for early signs of dehydration can help patients with head and neck cancer avoid trips to the emergency room or hospital. About 427 patients are comparing standard care to using a special monitoring system called CYCORE, which sends daily health data to their care team. The goal is to catch problems early and prevent serious dehydration, which is a common and costly side effect of radiation treatment.
