Summary
This study tested two methods to prevent chronic pain after thyroid removal: a nerve block (superficial cervical plexus block) and the drug ketamine. 69 adults having thyroid surgery were randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The main goal was to see which method better reduced nerve-related pain three months after surgery.
