Natural oils vs. ointment: the battle to stop Chemo's painful vein burns

NCT ID NCT07346677

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent a painful side effect of chemotherapy called phlebitis, which is inflammation of the veins. Researchers will compare three topical treatments—sesame oil, aloe vera gel, and nitroglycerin ointment—applied to the skin where the IV is placed. The goal is to see which one most effectively reduces pain and inflammation for breast and colon cancer patients receiving common chemo drugs.
