First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests if applying sesame oil, aloe vera gel, or nitroglycerin ointment to the skin can prevent phlebitis (vein inflammation) caused by chemotherapy. About 190 adults with breast or colon cancer receiving specific chemo drugs through a peripheral IV will be enrolled. Researchers will grade any vein irritation to see which treatment works best.
