One-Shot hope to protect bones during HIV therapy

NCT ID NCT06762730

Summary

This study tests if a single dose of zoledronic acid can prevent bone density loss that sometimes happens when people start HIV medication. Researchers will compare bone health over four years in 110 newly diagnosed adults who either receive the one-time infusion or just get regular check-ups. The goal is to see if this simple treatment can protect bones without needing ongoing medication.
