New drug tested to stop dangerous bleeding in twin births

NCT ID NCT07401524

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called carbetocin works better than the standard treatment (oxytocin) to prevent heavy, dangerous bleeding after giving birth to twins. Researchers will compare the two treatments in 120 people delivering twins to see which one better reduces blood loss. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to protect mothers' health during this higher-risk type of delivery.
