Do early body measurements predict future diabetes risk in preterm kids?

NCT ID NCT04945369

Summary

This study follows children who were born prematurely to understand if their early body composition measurements can predict their risk of developing insulin resistance (a condition linked to type 2 diabetes) as they grow. Researchers are tracking 114 children, now aged 8 to 14, who had body measurements taken as newborns. The study involves checking body fat, insulin levels, kidney function, and activity habits to learn how prematurity affects long-term metabolic health.
