Brain scans may predict language delays in premature babies
NCT ID NCT05397197
Summary
This study aims to understand how being born moderately premature affects how a baby's brain processes speech sounds. Researchers will track 160 infants—some born premature, some full-term—using brain wave measurements (EEG) as they listen to syllables. The goal is to identify early brain activity patterns that might predict later language delays, so at-risk children can get support sooner.
