First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study is for teens and young adults aged 12 to 24 who are planning to have weight loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy). Researchers want to understand how the body changes after surgery and why some people lose more weight than others. For those who haven't lost enough weight 1 to 2 years after surgery, the study will test if adding the medication semaglutide can help. The goal is to find better ways to define and achieve success after bariatric surgery.
