First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study will observe 228 elderly patients (65+) with a broken femur and high frailty to see if giving them a nutritional drink before surgery leads to better outcomes. Researchers will compare those who get the drink with those who follow standard care, tracking heart stability, complications, and survival for 90 days after surgery. The goal is to find a simple way to improve recovery in this vulnerable group.
