First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether giving a drug called anlotinib (which cuts off tumor blood supply) along with immunotherapy (penpulimab) and radiation before surgery can improve outcomes for people with soft tissue sarcoma in the arms, legs, or trunk. The study will enroll 30 adults and focus on safety, wound complications, and quality of life. It is currently recruiting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- anlotinib hydrochloride (a drug that blocks blood vessel growth) and penpulimab (an immunotherapy drug)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this combination could improve tumor shrinkage before surgery and reduce wound complications for people with soft tissue sarcoma.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply widely. The combination may increase side effects like wound healing problems or toxicity.
