First seen Apr 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether feeling distressed before surgery increases the risk of confusion (delirium), pain, and longer hospital stays in older adults having major orthopedic surgery. Researchers will measure distress levels before surgery and track outcomes in 150 patients aged 65 and older. The goal is to identify risk factors that could help prevent complications.
