Kidney Patients' surgery prep: Same-Day dialysis or not?

NCT ID NCT07339202

First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This pilot study looks at whether giving dialysis on the same day as surgery is practical and safe for people with end-stage kidney disease. About 30 adults who are on a stable dialysis schedule and need non-emergency surgery will be randomly assigned to receive dialysis either on the day of surgery or not. Researchers will track how well the scheduling works and watch for any health problems like electrolyte imbalances or fluid overload.
