Can a prenatal scan spot a hidden gut danger?
NCT ID NCT03968107
Summary
This study aimed to see if a standard third-trimester pregnancy ultrasound could accurately identify a serious condition where a baby's intestines are twisted or in the wrong position, which can be life-threatening after birth. Researchers compared ultrasound results to more detailed fetal MRI scans in 77 pregnant women to check the ultrasound's accuracy. The goal was to improve early detection of this rare but dangerous problem before the baby is born.
