Premature baby study seeks clues to language delays

NCT ID NCT07245693

First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at how premature babies learn to match what they see (lip movements) with what they hear (speech sounds). Researchers will track 60 infants born before 34 weeks to see when this skill develops compared to full-term babies. The goal is to find early signs of language or communication problems, so that help can be given sooner.
