Summary

This study tests whether a natural hormone called pregnenolone can help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. About 150 adults who drink heavily at least 3 times a week will take either pregnenolone or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. Researchers will track heavy drinking days and side effects to see if the treatment is safe and effective.
