First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a mother's physical activity during pregnancy influences her newborn's heart rate variability and oxygen levels. Researchers will monitor 100 babies overnight with heart and oxygen sensors, then track their growth and development until age 2. The goal is to learn more about how prenatal exercise might shape early heart health.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help us understand how exercise during pregnancy might benefit a baby's heart health and development.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only looks for links, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not apply to all pregnancies.
