Scientists race to protect pregnant women from deadly malaria

NCT ID NCT02471378

Summary

This study is testing potential vaccines to prevent malaria infections during pregnancy, which can be dangerous for both mother and baby. Researchers are collecting blood samples from about 2,500 pregnant women in Mali who have malaria. They'll use these samples in lab tests to see if experimental vaccines trigger the same protective immune responses that some women naturally develop against pregnancy malaria.
