First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding pregabalin or gabapentin to standard opioid painkillers could reduce the amount of opioids needed by adults hospitalized with orthopedic injuries. 109 participants were randomly assigned to receive one of the two nerve-pain medications alongside their usual care. The goal was to see if this approach could lower opioid use and potentially reduce side effects.
