First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether giving patients a personalized amount of IV fluids before surgery could prevent dangerously low blood pressure after anesthesia. 110 women undergoing gynecological pelvic surgery were randomly assigned to receive either weight-based fluids or standard fasting. The results showed that preemptive fluid therapy reduced the risk of post-induction hypotension.
