NCT ID NCT02968069

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will develop and test a diagnostic model to help doctors identify early gastric cancer during endoscopy. Researchers will use a special imaging technique called narrow band imaging (NBI) to examine suspicious lesions in 300 patients aged 40-80. The goal is to improve accuracy over current biopsy methods, especially for less experienced endoscopists.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this model could help doctors spot early gastric cancer more accurately during routine endoscopy, leading to earlier treatment.

What could go wrong

This is an early-stage model development study, not a treatment trial. The model may not prove accurate enough for widespread use.
