New scans aim to predict Who's most likely to die suddenly from heart problems

NCT ID NCT00181233

Summary

This study is testing whether advanced MRI and CT scans can help doctors better predict which patients with weakened hearts are at the highest risk for sudden cardiac death. It involves 400 people who already have a plan to get a special heart device (an ICD) to prevent sudden death. The goal is to see if these imaging tests can identify who needs the device's protection the most.
