New scan could revolutionize who gets Life-Saving heart devices
NCT ID NCT03493516
Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors identify which heart patients are at highest risk for sudden cardiac arrest. Researchers are testing whether PET scans measuring nerve activity in the heart can better predict risk than current methods. The goal is to help ensure life-saving defibrillators go to patients who truly need them while avoiding unnecessary implants in others.
