Brain test to predict PTSD drug success falls short
NCT ID NCT04183205
First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if a simple brain-wave test could predict which veterans with PTSD or depression would get the most relief from common antidepressants called SSRIs. Researchers planned to enroll 94 participants over 5 years, but the study was stopped early after only 26 people joined. The goal was to help doctors choose the right medication faster, but the early termination limits what we can learn.
