Computer models aim to predict sepsis in fragile newborns
NCT ID NCT07254559
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether computer models could predict sepsis and a serious gut infection called NEC in very low birth weight infants (under 1500 grams). Researchers used data from 144 babies in the NICU to build and test these models. The goal was to see if the approach was feasible, not to treat or prevent disease directly.
