Scientists search for clues to protect babies from opioid withdrawal

NCT ID NCT05942313

Summary

This study aims to understand why some pregnant women with opioid use disorder relapse and why some babies develop withdrawal symptoms, while others do not. Researchers will follow 100 pregnant women already receiving standard medication treatment and their infants for one year, collecting health information and genetic data. The goal is to identify factors that predict these risks, which could eventually lead to better prevention strategies.
