First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special imaging technique (electrical impedance tomography) and lung ultrasound can help doctors predict which premature babies will develop a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). The study will include 104 preterm infants born between 26 and 32 weeks or weighing less than 1500 grams. The goal is to find early signs of uneven lung ventilation so that treatments can be started sooner.
