Simple scan could warn moms of dangerous blood pressure drop during birth

NCT ID NCT05953129

Summary

This study tested whether looking at a mother's neck veins and checking simple heart rate and blood pressure ratios could predict a sudden drop in blood pressure after receiving spinal anesthesia for a planned C-section. Researchers enrolled 60 pregnant women to see if these quick, non-invasive checks could give doctors an early warning. The goal was to help doctors prevent or quickly treat this common and potentially dangerous complication.
