Foot pulse test may foretell limb and heart danger

NCT ID NCT06318767

First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at 134 people with severe peripheral artery disease (blocked leg arteries causing pain or wounds). Researchers measured blood flow in the foot using a new method called Systolic Rise Time. The goal was to see if this measurement could predict future major limb problems (like amputation) or heart attacks. The study did not test a treatment, but aimed to find a better way to identify high-risk patients.
