Brain's Pattern-Spotting power may predict language skills in autistic kids

NCT ID NCT06332144

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This observational study looked at 41 first-graders (25 with autism, 16 without) to see if their ability to learn patterns (statistical learning) can predict how their language and reading skills grow over three months. Children played computer games and had brain scans, then took language and reading tests. The goal was to understand how pattern learning helps language development, not to test a treatment.
